Alex Strohl is one of my favorite outdoor adventure photographers, so when I learned he created his own online photography class called Adventure Photography Pro, I signed up ASAP! Alex shoots professionally for some HUGE brands, so it was super interesting to learn about this part of his business (along with actual examples on location with clients).

With 15 lessons and more than 12 hours of video content, his photography tutorial takes you from the on-location capture (in places like Iceland & New Zealand) all the way through his post-processing techniques in the studio.

Want to learn how to compose a better image while telling a story with your camera? Or the technical side of photography like understanding what aperture, shutter speed and ISO really do? These are just some of the topics travel photographer Laurence Norah goes over in his Travel Photography Course.

Our Teen Academy program, geared toward young photographers, offers students ages 14-19 the opportunity to develop their photography skills. These seasonal photography courses for teens offer all the same facilities as our other courses, and scholarships for teens are available for those who qualify.

Our photography students come from around the world, representing many countries, ages, and backgrounds, making the discussions at ICP rich and provocative. The ICP staff welcomes you and is always available for consultation to review your work. Our faculty wants to make building your photography portfolio with our photography courses online and in-person possible and enriching.

Two of the most in-demand types of photography are portrait and family photography as well as wedding photography. While the latter tends to be somehow seasonal, you can rely on a steady source of income if you choose to become a portrait photographer.Other great options are commercial photography (including food, architecture, design, or other products and services), fashion photography, travel, outdoor wildlife and nature, stock photography, and photojournalism. Social media also offers many options to focus on, such as becoming an influencer with your photography skills or offering your skills to others.

A beginner photography class will teach you the basics of photography, familiarize you with the equipment you need and how to use it, and show you how to view the world around you with a photographer's eye by formulating a goal and planning and executing your project. If you are already experienced and want to perfect your technical skills or try a new area such as wedding, portrait, or wildlife photography, your course will aim at teaching you the technical, creative, artistic, and purely organizational skills you need to become a master in your desired field. Choosing the right class, reading carefully through the description, and even contacting the tutor or community beforehand might save you time and help you better prepare before the class starts.

Electronic flash photography may seem confusing, inconsistent and frustrating, but mastery of even the basics can open a whole new world of photographic possibilities. Flash photography unquestionably improves the quality of images taken in a number of common shooting situations and is just plain fun! The opportunities are virtually unlimited. This course is designed to first to assure that each student understands how to operate and use their electronic flash equipment and will then explore a number of creative applications. Techniques for fill flash, off-camera flash, rear-curtain flash, multiple flash and painting with light will each be explored.

But I soon discovered my passion was telling stories through photography. I've worked on documentary projects for nonprofits and NGOs around the world and have also taught photography lessons on three continents.

This class was above and beyond what I felt I signed up for. There is so much great information within this course and the structure of the course really allows you to learn the information. Having John individually grade assignments and give you feedback was a major help and also really motivated me to keep doing more lessons and show that I was learning the information. I am a beginner and learned so much through this course. I would highly recommend it to anyone learning a new fujifilm camera or photography in general. In just a few weeks I have far more of an understanding that I would have just doing free youtube videos, etc. It is well worth it!

John's knowledge and his ability to explain photography concepts in simple, concise and understandable terms significantly enhanced my knowledge of photography. This is the most useful photography class I have ever been involved with, having taken other online classes, watching videos and group lessons. Without a doubt, his classes have regenerated both my knowledge and excitement in taking my photography to the next level!

John Peltier makes it very clear from the onset, that he is 'in your corner' to assist you as you complete his courses. However, he also is clear that one gets out of these courses is directly related to the input. It is obvious that he is a seasoned teacher, providing a learning method to achieve individual goals. I am looking forward to enjoying these courses.

In Spring 2011, Stanford University hosted a series of lectures designed to help students learn more about digital photography. And while the art has evolved dramatically since then, you will still find a lot of use in the information shared in this course. 041b061a72
